Mera Peak Climbing is one of the most rewarding and beginner-friendly high-altitude trekking experiences in Nepal. Standing tall at 6,461 meters, Mera Peak is the highest trekking peak in Nepal, located in the Mahalangur section of the Everest region. It offers an incredible opportunity for trekkers to step into the world of mountaineering without requiring advanced climbing experience.
The journey begins with a scenic flight to Lukla, followed by a trek through the pristine and remote Hinku Valley. This route passes through lush forests, alpine meadows, glacial rivers, and traditional Sherpa villages, providing an immersive cultural and natural experience. The trail is designed for a gradual ascent, allowing enough time for acclimatization, which makes the expedition safer and more enjoyable for climbers of all levels.
From the summit of Mera Peak, you will witness a breathtaking panoramic view of five of the world’s highest mountains: Mount Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,414m), Makalu (8,463m), Cho Oyu (8,188m), and Kanchenjunga (8,586m). Along the way, trekkers also pass through the Makalu Barun Conservation Area, home to unique Himalayan flora and fauna.
Though the climb is physically demanding due to the altitude, it requires only basic mountaineering skills. The best seasons for Mera Peak Climbing are spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November), when weather conditions are stable and the skies are clear for stunning mountain views.
