The Langtang–Gosaikund Circuit Trek offers a rich combination of Himalayan scenery, spiritual discovery, and cultural exploration. This 17-day trek takes you deep into the Langtang Valley, up to the sacred alpine lakes of Gosaikund, and across the breathtaking Laurebina La pass before descending into the culturally vibrant Helambu region.
This trail is less crowded than Everest or Annapurna, yet it offers equally mesmerizing experiences. Expect lush rhododendron forests, ancient monasteries, glacier views, and encounters with the warm-hearted Tamang and Hyolmo communities.

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, you’ll be greeted by a representative from Feel Everest Trek who will transfer you to your hotel. After checking in, you can relax or explore the vibrant streets of Thamel for souvenir shopping. In the evening, we’ll host a welcome dinner where you’ll enjoy delicious Nepali cuisine, giving you a taste of the country’s authentic flavors. If your flight arrives late, the meeting and dinner will be scheduled for the next day. Overnight in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, embark on a cultural tour of Kathmandu Valley. Visit UNESCO World Heritage sites like Pashupatinath Temple, the famous Hindu temple complex, and Boudhanath and Swayambhunath stupas, which are key Buddhist landmarks. You’ll also explore Kathmandu Durbar Square and Kumari Ghar, home of the living goddess. In the afternoon, we’ll discuss your upcoming trek, and you’ll meet your fellow trekkers and the trekking team.
In the morning, leave Kathmandu for Syabrubesi, the starting point of your trek. The drive takes you through winding roads with breathtaking views of the Manaslu, Annapurna, and Ganesh Himal mountain ranges. Upon arrival at Syabrubesi, you’ll settle in for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, begin the trek along the Langtang Khola (river). The trail winds through oak and rhododendron forests, crossing bridges and climbing steep sections until reaching Lama Hotel for an overnight stay.
Continue your trek to Langtang Village, following the Langtang River. As you ascend, you’ll pass forests of hemlocks, maples, and rhododendrons. The path gradually leads you to a wind-swept valley before arriving at the village for the night.
Today’s trek brings you to Kyanjin Gompa, a Tibetan village. You’ll pass through stone-built houses, climb to a Chorten (stupa), and walk along a large Mani wall. Spend the afternoon exploring the area and acclimatizing, or visit the Kyanjin Glacier. The village is also home to a famous monastery and a yak cheese factory.
Today, take a day hike to one of the best viewpoints in the region: either Kyanjin Ri (4,850m/16,005ft) or Tserko Ri (5,000m/16,500ft). Both offer spectacular views of the Langtang Lirung, Kinshung, and other surrounding peaks. Afterward, return to the guesthouse for lunch and enjoy a relaxed walk around the Kyanjin Valley.
Today, retrace your steps back to Lama Hotel. The descent offers you new perspectives of the mountains you passed on the way up, and you’ll have time to appreciate the views you may have missed earlier. Take your time and enjoy the walk back.
After breakfast, you descend to Bamboo and then ascend sharply toward Thulo Syabru. This beautiful Tamang village clings to the hillside and offers panoramic sunset views of the Ganesh Himal range. You can explore the monastery, interact with locals, and witness authentic Himalayan village life.
The trail continues uphill through pine and rhododendron forests. After a few hours of ascent, you’ll reach Sing Gompa (Chandan Bari), a peaceful ridge-top village. Visit the local monastery and the yak cheese factory. The views of Langtang and Ganesh Himal from this point are stunning.
Today is one of the most spiritual and scenic sections of the trek. The trail ascends gradually, revealing spectacular mountain vistas and high alpine scenery. As you approach Gosaikund, a cluster of glacial lakes comes into view, with the main lake shimmering like a mirror. According to legend, Lord Shiva created Gosaikund by striking his trident into the mountain to obtain water. This sacred lake attracts Hindu pilgrims, especially during the Janai Purnima festival.
Prepare for an early start to cross the highest point of the trek: Laurebina La Pass. The climb is steep and can be icy in early spring or late autumn. From the pass, enjoy magnificent views stretching from Langtang Lirung to the Annapurnas. After reaching the summit, you descend steeply to Ghopte, a quiet resting spot nestled in the forest.
Today’s trail undulates through dense forest, past chortens and prayer flags. As you enter the Helambu region, the culture slowly transitions from Tibetan-Tamang to Sherpa and Hyolmo influences. Kutumsang is a quaint hilltop village with sweeping vistas of the rolling foothills and distant peaks.
Your trek continues across ridges and villages surrounded by farmlands and forests. Chisapani is a popular spot for weekend trekkers from Kathmandu and offers one last mountain panorama. If the weather cooperates, you’ll witness a glorious sunset over Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, and even glimpses of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.
The final leg of the trek leads you downhill through Shivapuri National Park, a serene conservation area filled with monkeys, waterfalls, and chirping birds. Upon reaching Sundarijal, a private vehicle will take you back to your hotel in Kathmandu. The rest of the day is yours to relax, enjoy a hot shower, or explore the city one last time.
This buffer day is reserved for rest, souvenir shopping, or optional activities such as a visit to Bhaktapur, a local cooking class, or a rejuvenating Ayurvedic massage. It also serves as a contingency in case of bad weather on the trail.
Your incredible Himalayan adventure concludes today. Depending on your flight schedule, our team will transfer you to the airport with warm wishes and a heartfelt goodbye. We hope your experience in Nepal has inspired you to return for more mountains and memories.
