The Annapurna Base Camp Trek—also known as the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek—is one of Nepal’s most iconic and scenic adventures. Slightly longer than the short ABC itinerary, this classic tea house trek is a favorite among trekkers worldwide. It offers a rewarding journey into the heart of the Annapurna region, culminating in a close-up view of Annapurna I (8,091m)—the 10th highest mountain in the world.
This unforgettable route takes you to Poon Hill, a famous vantage point renowned for its breathtaking sunrise views over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Your adventure begins with a cultural day tour of Kathmandu Valley, exploring its rich UNESCO World Heritage Sites. From there, a scenic overland drive takes you to Pokhara, Nepal’s beautiful lake city, and onward to Nayapul, the trek’s starting point.
The trail meanders through lush rhododendron forests, terraced hillsides, traditional Gurung villages, and a landscape teeming with Himalayan flora and fauna. After reaching the spectacular base camp and soaking in the mountain vistas, you’ll make your way back to Pokhara for a well-earned rest.
